Timing

The best time to make a spare

While one key still works.

This allows proper system confirmation and avoids emergency replacement costs. A spare made today is a simple job. The same job after the last key fails is significantly more involved.

Authority

Not all spare keys are equal

Modern vehicles rely on both mechanical precision and electronic recognition. A key must be cut correctly and accepted by the vehicle's system. Without both, it may fail when you need it most.

Key deal

Up to 50% off additional keys when you buy two or more.

The second key is the right time to get the third. When you order multiple keys in a single visit, additional keys are discounted — up to 50% off. One trip, fully covered.

Ask about multi-key pricing when you request a quote.

Spare key questions

Why make a spare key before there is an emergency?

Because the easiest key job is the one done while a working key still exists. Getting a spare now keeps a normal inconvenience from turning into an all-keys-lost service call with more parts, more programming, and more downtime.

What is the difference between aftermarket, OEM refurbished, and OEM new?

Aftermarket keys are reliable and cost-effective — a solid choice for most vehicles. OEM refurbished are original manufacturer keys that have been restored and tested. OEM new are brand new factory keys, identical to what came with your vehicle. All three options are cut, programmed, and verified at your location.

What if my current key is already showing wear?

A spare-key visit is the right time to address it. If the original is worn or inconsistent, you can replace it and keep the new key as your daily driver, or make a clean spare and hold the original as backup. Either way, you leave with two working keys.

Can you make a spare if I only have one key left?

Yes. One working key is all we need. Waiting until that last key is gone turns a simple spare job into a more involved all-keys-lost service call with higher cost and longer downtime.

Do modern vehicles really need the key programmed — not just cut?

Yes. Most vehicles from the late 1990s onward use transponder chips or proximity fobs that must be registered to the vehicle's immobilizer. A key that is only cut will insert and turn but will not start the car. We confirm what your vehicle requires before arrival.
