Founder Story
Dylan built The Key Man around specialized automotive locksmith work.
Dylan's father and uncles opened a locksmith shop in New York City in the mid 1980s. Growing up around that environment shaped how he learned the trade, approached problem solving, and thought about customer service.
After attending Trident Technical College and the College of Charleston, he saw a clear need in Charleston for a more skilled, more dependable, and more customer focused automotive locksmith. He leaned into the part of the trade he had always been drawn to: cutting and programming car keys.
He built the website, invested in the equipment, and launched The Key Man with a simple goal: give Charleston drivers a mobile automotive locksmith option that is technically strong, honest about the job, and easier to trust.
Thank You Charleston

How the business operates
